DRIVERS have been warned that five roads across the city will be affected by roadworks.

Wordsworth Avenue, in Perdiswell, has carriageway resurfacing works which are due to begin today (Monday).

The road was closed from Bilford Road to Longfellow Road with emergency access maintained at all times.

A letter was sent to residents and businesses affected by the closure, and advanced signage was put out two weeks prior to the works commencing.

The works began this morning at 7.30am, and are due to last until Friday, July 1 at 5pm.

Longfellow Road, in Perdiswell, is also due to be affected by carriageway resurfacing from Addison Road to Wordsworth Avenue.

Emergency, residential and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times during the closure.

The works also began this morning at 7.30am, but are in effect until Friday, July 8 at 5pm.

A letter explaining the works was sent to residents and businesses that were affected by the closure, as well as advanced signage being in place two weeks prior to the works commencing.

Shelley Close, in Perdiswell, is also affected by these roadworks, with the cl-de0sac remaining closed whilst the carriageway surfacing works are carried out.

These works will also be in effect until Friday, July 1.

Worcestershire County Council has also shared that tree maintenance is set to be carried out today on Foley Road and Vernon Park Road in St John's.
