A NEW mini golf venue in Worcester city centre has shows the first signs that it is set to open soon.

The blue, black and white Mr Mulligans sign has gone up outside the former sports shop on the High Street.

The mini golf venue is set to open next month and joins Ask, Cosy Club and Five Guys as part of the Cathedral Square development.

Mr Mulligans moved into the former DW Sports store on Worcester's High Street and is currently in the process of renovating the venue ready for a July opening.

The sports venue has proved a hit across its many locations - and also offers live music and a bar for older clients.

The venue will boast an adventure golf course, electro-darts, pool, ping pong and a shuffleboard - along with a bar and restaurant.

Mr Mulligans was handed a late-night alcohol licence by Worcester City Council earlier this year in March.

The new Mr Mulligans in Worcester, which will cater for families, students and adults, would add to the 12 locations already open across the country – including a spot in Birmingham.

The news of the venue coming to Worcester took the city by storm, with residents and visitors eagerly awaiting when they can head for a game.

An exact opening date has yet to be confirmed by the venue.

Cathedral Ward City Councillor, Jabba Riaz, previously said: "Any new business coming to Worcester under the current circumstances is most certainly welcomed.

"Mr Mulligans seems to be covering a wide range, appealing to families in the day and caters for adults in the evening with live music and a bar which we do not really have in our high street."

Sophie Burke, group head of marketing, for parent company Burhill Group Limited, said: “We are delighted to continue to grow the brand in new locations around the country and we are very much looking forward to being part of the wonderful community in Worcester.”
