A DRIVER who failed to stop at the scene of a crash and did not report it to police has been fined hundreds of pounds.

Neil Cross, of Tydeman Street in Gorse Hill, caused damage to a white van while driving on the street where he lived on May 11.

The 50-year-old did not stop to give his name and address to the other driver after the accident and later failed to report it to the authorities within 24 hours of the collision.

He pleaded guilty to both offences at Swindon Magistrates Court on Tuesday, and was fined £150 for each crime.

Cross must also pay £22 to victim services and £85 in court costs. He received five penalty points on his driving licence.
