A number of car owners have had their vehicles broken into after leaving them parked overnight in the town centre.
Swindon Police have issued a warning to residents to ensure they always lock their cars after many valuable items were taken.
A spokesperson for the force said: "In the majority of these incidents, the vehicles have been left insecure and items taken include cash or sunglasses that have been left in view.
"Please ensure your vehicle is secure and nothing of value is left inside, especially overnight."
Anyone who sees anybody acting suspiciously around parked vehicles is encouraged to call 101 to report concerns and if a crime is in progress, call 999.
