Swindon's Love Island bombshell Lacey Edwards has been voted out of the show less than a week after she made her debut.

Despite being dumped from the island, Lacey, 25, said she is looking forward to her first date with one Islander outside the villa.

She also revealed who she's backing to win the show.

The professional dancer, 25, entered the Love Island villa last Wednesday with three other bombshells to shake things up with the existing couples.

She initially had her sights set on Davide Sanclimenti, Luca Bish and Adam Collard.

But Lacey ended up picking single boy Deji Adeniyi for a date and gushed about their connection. The pair then 'coupled up' together ahead of the public vote.

In last night's episode, Lacey confided in friend Nathalia Campos: "As you can see, we just get on. He makes me feel so comfortable and we do have a lot in common."

The public voted on the most compatible couples and those with the least votes were dumped from the island.

This meant that Lacey, Deji, Nathalia and Reece Ford were sent packing.

Host Laura Whitmore pointed to their "chemistry" and asked Lacey if the pair would try to make it work outside the villa.

Lacey joked: "I think we are done now. Don't like each other that much! I'm joking.

"We are really excited. Everything is going good and hopefully he will take me out on a nice date."

"It didn't come as a shock [to be voted out] but I'm just really grateful for the experience. I had so much fun and they all deserve it.

"I think we're just going to enjoy our time when we're out and see what happens."

Deji added: "Honestly I would not change a thing about my journey. I feel like it was beautiful even though I had my ups and downs and it was a bit of a rollercoaster.

"I came here to find one thing which was a connection and I feel like I found it."

When asked who would be her favourite couple to win the show and the £50,000 prize money this year, Lacey couldn't decide between Ekin-Su and Davide and Dami and Indiyah.

Fans were less than happy with the shock dumping and took to Twitter to share their reactions.

In the Style tweeted: "Aww we feel kind of sad seeing Deji go. Wanted to see what really developed with him & Lacey. Wishing them all the best."

"How have Luca and Gemma got more votes than Deji and Lacey. What are we doing?" one wrote.

Another agreed: "Deji and Lacey deserved better. It should be Luca and Gemma."

Commenting on their compatibility, one Twitter user said: "I haven't seen Deji smile this much since he's been here. Lacey and him are growing on me."

Kim added: "Deji and Lacey? Feels like one of the first genuine conversations in this entire season. I'm here for it."
