Prospective house buyers in Swindon can now visit two new showhomes which have been unveiled in the town.

Bellway is inviting people to view the four-bedroom Philosopher house and the three-bedroom Fuller house at its Ridgeway Park development in Wroughton.

The detached properties are part of the range of three and four-bedroom homes being built by Bellway at the site off of Marlborough Road.

Neighbours had objected to Bellway's plans for the new estate because of fears over road safety, parking and flooding but councillors gave it the green light in October 2021, despite being critical themselves, and work has been taking place since then.

Despite the initial controversy surrounding the development, Bellway has said that interest in the new homes is very high.

Christel Hawkins, Sales Manager for Bellway South West, said: “The opening of the Philosopher and Fuller showhomes has been keenly anticipated by prospective buyers who have been engaging enthusiastically with our sales team.

"This is the first chance for people to see what their dream home at Ridgeway Park could look like so we would encourage them to make the most of this opportunity.

"This is a very busy time for our staff at the development as the launch of the showhomes came just as we are set to welcome our first residents into their new homes.

"There is a discernible demand for more housing in Swindon which has been demonstrated by the strong level of sales we have experienced since the first properties went on sale in November.

“Buyers can expect the highest standards of quality and design at Ridgeway Park because all homes will be built to the exacting specifications of the Artisan Collection, our flagship range of homes.

"The Philosopher is one of the most popular house types within this exclusive range, featuring a large open-plan kitchen, family and dining area, as well as a separate lounge and ground floor study for homeworking.”

Bellway is building 103 new homes at Ridgeway Park, including 72 houses for private sale and 31 affordable homes for rent or shared ownership.

A selection of three and four-bedroom houses are presently available for purchase, with prices starting from £377,500.

Ridgeway Park is open from 10am to 5pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 10am to 7pm on Thursday, and 11am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
