Kathryn Louise Burn may have fallen at the final hurdle on The Apprentice, but it did not stop the Swindon entrepreneur claiming one of the top prizes at this year's National Reality Television Awards.

The former Dorcan Technology College student won over the public with her appearance on the hit BBC show and has been voted voted as the Reality Personality Of The Year 2022.

Kathryn, who hoped to become Lord Sugar's next Apprentice with her pyjama business pitch, attended the star-studded award ceremony at Porchester Hall and walked away with the individual gong.

The Liden-raised star picked up another award as part of the larger Apprentice line-up, with the show winning the trophy for Best Business Show 2022 as well.

In a reversal of fortunes Harpreet Kaur, who won the Apprentice earlier this year, missed out to Kathryn on the overall best personality award but did claim the Best Female Personality award.

The Best Male Personality prize went to former Five boyband member Abz Love.

"I didn't prepare a speech because I didn't think that I'd get it," Kathryn said as she took to the stage to accept the honour.

"But thank you to everyone who voted and a big shout out to The Apprentice table."

Kathryn posted about her night at the awards on Instragram afterwards, sharing pictures of with her trophy and alongside other Apprentice contestants.

She included the caption "Winner winner chicken dinner. Great night at the National Reality TV awards."

Speaking to the Adver about her award win, Kathryn revealed what was next for her and her business.

She said: "It’s just lovely that people took the time to vote for me - it means a lot! I went on The Apprentice for my business and the opportunities that have come from it, have been amazing for me."

Kathryn has launched the business she pitched to Lord Sugar - everyday matching pyjama sets for all the family including dogs, moving away from her original business of Christmas sets.

But she confirmed she is bringing the Christmas-themed range back.

She said: "I’m well into preparations for reopening My Christmas Pyjamas for our fifth year of business next month - where does the time go?

"We reopen on Sunday, September 4, and I’ll also be at Cirencester markets this year at the end of November!"
