HOUSEHOLDS across Swindon have been left without water after a water pipe burst.
Reports emerged about low water pressure at around 2.50pm on Friday afternoon.
The SN1, SN3 and SN4 postcodes have been affected by the problem.
Images then surfaced on social media of cars struggling to navigate a flood in Perry’s Lane, Wroughton.
Residents in the area say they saw a lorry mount the pavement, which caused the pipe to burst underneath
As of 5.15pm the water had been drained completely and the incident was cleared.
Residents in Halifax Close, Coronation Road, Priors Hill and Elcombe are now saying they are now without water.
In a statement, Thames Water said: “We’re sorry to customers in the Swindon area who have no water or lower pressure than normal this afternoon due to a burst pipe and the disruption it has caused.
"We have a team of engineers on site and the burst has been shut in, stopping the flow of water.
“We’ve moving water around our network to help bring customers back into supply and we’re doing all we can to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.”
