A POST office is reopening in a new Swindon location next month.

The Stratton St Margaret branch which used to be on Rainer Place will now serve customers from inside the Costcutter on Hobley Parade near Hobley Drive from Tuesday September 20 at 1pm.

This will restore full-time permanent Post Office services to the area. Its opening hours will be 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 12.30pm on Saturdays.

This will mean that the Post Office will be open 46 hours a week.

Post Office network provision lead Antoinette Chitty said: “We are delighted to soon be restoring a permanent Post Office to this area as we know how important a Post Office is to a community.

"The opening hours will make it convenient for customers to visit.

"We are keen to restore this full-time branch to the area as soon as possible, so we have decided to go ahead with our plans."

People can give feedback on the new location by September 2 by using the online consultation form postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 193548.
