THIS is your last chance to vote for Swindon's best pub.

Saturday's Adver will be the final one to include tokens which can be collected and sent in to us to decide which of the top 10 finalists will emerge victorious.

The Clifton, The Crown Inn, The Dolphin, The Moonrakers, The Plough Inn, The Runner, The Strawberry Thief, The Swiss Chalet, The Victoria, and The Windmill are all vying for your votes.

The pub with the most tokens sent in by August 21 will be declared the winner after the totals have been totted up.

We've been speaking to some of those on the shortlist.

The Plough landlady Tracy Davis and Lucy Waiters said: "We would like to thank all our loyal and supportive customers for getting us this far, we couldn’t be more grateful.

"We have worked hard to make sure we created a safe environment for everyone to feel comfortable and enjoy together.

"The Plough has always had an amazing group of regulars that we wanted to add to.

"Our goal was to create a pub you could attend on your own and be guaranteed to know a familiar face.

"It was very important for us that customers were always greeted by myself or Lucy and not by different members of staff.

"As a small pub in Old Town, we really wanted to bring the family feel, and in a male-dominated industry, we knew the changes we wanted to make.

"When we took over The Plough just under two years ago, we could never have imagined what was ahead of us.

"Even though our journey to where we are now has been a complete rollercoaster, we couldn’t be happier. Our dream was to create an atmosphere that catered for everyone, from all walks of life."

Similarly, Matt Davies took charge of The Windmill in Freshbrook mid-pandemic, just under two years ago.

He said: "It was a difficult time but we seem to have turned a corner and are doing well after focusing on improving food, service quality and the community aspect.

"There's a friendly environment, we do lots of fundraising for charity and family events with activities for kids.

"It's brilliant to hear we're in the top 10, the team are dead chuffed and papers are being bought left right and centre.

"It would be an amazing achievement if we won, but we're just glad to make it this far."
