Local Business Improvement District (BID) company inSwindon BID has announced a rebranding in a bid to improve the town's outlook.

As part of it they have a new name, Town Centre inSwindon, a new logo and a fresh website for visitors at swindontowncentre.co.uk

The aim of the initiative is to help modernise the look and feel of Swindon to get people thinking differently about its town centre and what it has to offer.

The site went live on August 8, with the website creators boasting it will soon give visitors a bespoke shopping experience with a system for easy-to-find businesses and services, up-to-date news, offers and events tailored to the customer’s needs.

Businesses will also have the opportunity to communicate directly with their customers on the interface.

inSwindon BID Director, Anita Bellinger, said: “The new branding has several different audiences to consider, from our local community to businesses and tourism.

"We hope it will be an integral part of the exciting new chapter for the Town Centre in Swindon, which is just starting to reveal itself as being home to many remarkable makers, designer, artisans and pioneers, displaying iconic art murals, outdoor theatre performances and interactive trails, accessible to all.

"With support from the community and welcomed visitors all our independent and national businesses, and dedicated services, we will have a platform for their business models to shine from and a Town Centre brand to be proud to use.”

The firm says the new branding will continue to grow as part of inSwindon BID's Destination Marketing initiative, and it will be utilised throughout the BID and wider area for all marketing and promotion purposes.

Dave Barter, CEO of the website creators Nautoguide Ltd, said: “We are delighted to see the inSwindon BID Company go live with their new website designed and built within our open source Locaria framework.

"Locaria uses leading-edge serverless technology to bring location data and content together in a seamless fashion.

"We look forward to adding new interactive mapping and automated event listing components to the site in the very near future.

"It’s been a pleasure to work with the BID team and their designer Kate Parsons, showing what a tight partnership can deliver in a very short space of time.”

The company responsible for the management and promotion of Swindon's town centre were granted a future five years doing the job back in March after a vote by businesses.

The not-for-profit organisation said at the time that £2million of private investment would go into 'the heart of Swindon's town centre'.
