Police say there have been no developments in their investigation into the death of Swindon woman Helen Long more than two months ago.

A man in his 70s was arrested on suspicion of murder after her body was discovered inside an address in Standen Way, Blunsdon St Andrew on June 21.

A post-mortem was carried out on the day the 44-year-old was found but a cause of death could not be determined.

The suspect was released under investigation the following day.

Wiltshire Police confirmed the man remains released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Following the incident, Det Insp Simon Childe, from the major crime investigation team, said: “We know that this incident will have caused concern locally, but I want the community to be reassured that we are carrying out an in-depth investigation.

“Our thoughts are with Helen’s family at this difficult time, and we are working hard to ensure we understand the full circumstances of her death.

“I would continue to appeal for anyone with information to come forward and speak to us.”

Anyone with information that could help police is asked to call Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting log 26 of June 21.
