JAMIE Cox is gunning for a Commonwealth title within the next 12 months as he bids to make some serious progress up the professional ranks.

The Swindon boxer will fight in his fifth bout since turning pro just over a year ago at the Cardiff International Arena tomorrow night - and he is not about to hang around.

Cox faces journeyman boxer David Kehoe on the undercard of Gavin Rees' World Title bout in the last of his four-round fights and is confident he will be hitting the headlines this time next year.

He said: "I am looking for a title early next year.

"I want to be fighting for the Commonwealth title as soon as possible. If it does not come early then fair enough but you have goals and that is one of my main goals.

"I am ready for it and I feel sorry for my opponent when I do fight for it."
