It was one of those lovely sunny days,
No more cold wind, just a gentle warm haze.
There wasn't a cloud in the pale blue sky.
No sound to be heard, save a plane on high.
Alone I walked on, passed a man and his dog.
Further round two runners out for a jog.

Across the muddy grass between bare trees
White carpets of snowdrops nod in the breeze.
I lift up a head, so modestly bowed
A tiny rosette cries "Beauty" out loud.
Clumps here, more there, single flowers and doubles
Such a sight, perfect joy, to melt away your troubles.
