CHINNOR scored four tries in the final 16 minutes to secure their first win of the season in a thrilling National League 1 encounter with Birmingham Moseley.

The hosts trailed by nine points at the break, but fought back to record a bonus point 38-21 victory.

At 21-12, the match could have gone either way, but tries from Jason Worrall (2), Willie Ryan and Josh Hodson saw Chinnor come out on top.

Moseley started strongly and Batsirai Zindi powered over in the third minute – Ben Palmer adding the extras – but Chinnor levelled after eight minutes when Josh Pieterse crossed and Tom Price converted.

The hosts took the lead on 21 minutes, Ryan finishing off a move which started from a lineout on the home side’s 22.

Moseley headed into the break 21-12 ahead, with tries from Suvwe Obano and Sam Pointon – Palmer converting both.

The first 20 minutes of the half were error-strewn, but Chinnor enjoyed more possession and territory.

The pressure paid off when Ryan crashed over – Price converting – to reduce Moseley’s lead to two points, before three tries in the final eight minutes sealed victory for the hosts.

Worrall raced over out wide, before Hodson ran in from 50m after capitalising on a loose pass.

As the visitors went in search of a bonus point, the hosts then countered and Worrall raced after Nick Smith’s kick to complete the scoring.

Henley Hawks scored four tries to claim a bonus point win against National 2 East leaders Barnes.

Barnes replied shortly afterwards with a try from Will Lewin.

A Tom Emery drive won a penalty for the Hawks, which they kicked to the corner and a driving maul paid dividends when Manning crashed over. Titchener again converted.

An interception from Giles Bromley-Martin saw the Barnes centre run 50m unopposed to score under the posts, for a try which Patrick McDuell converted.

Titchener kicked a penalty in the second half to give some breathing space, before Tom Vooght crashed over for a try that Titchener converted.

The Hawks got their bonus point when Leo Webb squeezed into the corner.
