Below are some of the biggest cases our reporters have covered in the last month.

Beau James Houghton

A SERIAL offender has been jailed after he stole more than £100 of women’s clothing.

Beau James Houghton stole £110 of women’s clothing from Marks and Spencer in Swindon on June 27.

He also stole a bike in the town on July 7.

More details have been revealed about a jailed Swindon drug dealer, who shoved heroin and cocaine wraps into his underwear has been jailed for more than four years.

Leandro Pinto, 19, was arrested multiple times between March and April this year for offences linked to drug dealing in Swindon.

A SWINDON man who delivered a gun to a drug dealer shortly before a shooting has been given another jail sentence.

Leigh Peppiatt is currently serving 14 years for possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life following a shooting in Reading in October 2019.

James Rumney

A Wiltshire rapist who treated his "terrified" victim like an "inanimate object" has been jailed for six years.

James Rumney raped the female victim twice after they met on a night out.

Rumney was out with a group with friends in September 2020 when he met the victim.

Unnamed adult

A balaclava-clad teen launched a terrifying attack on a fellow student at a Swindon school.

The boy punched the victim a number of times in the assault in full view of shocked staff and students.

Caught on CCTV, the 17-year-old and his adult co-defendant were wearing balaclavas when they launched the shocking onslaught.

The adult co-defendant cannot be named for legal reasons.

The boy was let off with a youth rehabilitation order, but the adult was recalled to prison and given a further 12 weeks behind bars

A driver who dragged a police officer along the ground while attempting to flee has been jailed.

Matthew Turley, 20, of Cambria Place, Swindon, pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicle taking without consent, dangerous driving, possession of an offensive weapon, public order and possession of cannabis.

Jake Lewis

A drug dealer was seen topping up a drug phone at a Tesco store just minutes before bulk messages were sent out to addicts across Swindon.

Police saw Jake Lewis putting credit on the ‘line’, used to advertise illicit goods for sale, at a Tesco Express store in Swindon on April 8 at around 10am.
