A BIG brand will be joining the Swindon Designer Outlet before Christmas.

The McArthur Glen retail destination will be opening a new Haribo store in the coming weeks, just in time for the festive season.

This will be the ninth brick-and-mortar branch for the popular sweets manufacturer which is beloved by kids and grown-ups alike - and promises to include the biggest pick 'n' mix section of them all.

The shop will include Haribo and Maoam treats along with special Christmas goodies and exclusive merchandise.

Haribo UK's managing director Jon Hughes said: "Haribo is all about bringing out the inner child in all of us and sharing moments of childlike happiness.

"Our stores do exactly that - we can see that on our consumers' faces from the moment they step into our stores.

"Shoppers will experience the feeling of being an excited kid in a sweet shop when picking their very own Haribo mix.

"Our new store in Swindon will have the largest Pick n Mix station of all of our stores. We have an ambitious plan to extend our stores across the UK.

"We are excited to be opening our store just in time for the Christmas season, creating several new jobs for the local area whilst bringing excitement and exclusive products and offers to our HARIBO fans in Swindon and the surrounding area."

This comes after the confectionery giant opened another new retail store in Braintree, Essex at the beginning of this year, joining other shops in Yorkshire, Somerset, and other Designer Outlets in York, Cheshire, Ashford, and the West and East Midlands.

Swindon Designer Outlet general manager Tina Cumpstey added: "We are pleased to announce the new opening of Haribo, which will reaffirm McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Swindon's position as the one-stop shop for guests of all ages.

"Not only will this be a delight for children and adults alike while visiting our centre, but the new store will also contribute to creating new jobs for Wiltshire residents. We are pleased to add such a well-loved brand to our portfolio and look forward to witnessing the joy the new store will bring to our visitors."

A family-owned business with two manufacturing facilities in Yorkshire, HARIBO has been making and innovating the much-loved sweets in the UK for more than 50 years. Family favourites include Starmix, which has been named Britain's favourite sweet, Tangfastics, and Supermix as well as Goldbears, who celebrated its 100th birthday this year.
