A young Swindon boy is leaving people speechless with his mature works of art

12-year-old Morgan Guillery's black-and-white sketches has led to him getting quite the backing locally.

Things blew up when his mother and fellow artist Judy Guillery who regularly shared Morgan's creations on social media eventually set up a dedicated Facebook page for it (which now has 1,000 followers), and he was offered a chance to sell his work at a stall in Swindon Hub.

From then, demand for the artist's work grew and grew, with a collection of prints dubbed 'Morgan's Monsters', depicting a steampunk skull, a mechanical dragon and a moon monster, sold out, with one set even being ordered from Australia.

His work has now been printed onto shirts and has even earned him an appearance on BBC Radio Wiltshire as well as invites to various events like the local Battle for Black Cat Bridge medieval festival and Big Barn Festival in Faringdon.

But how does the creative Morgan feel about all the attention he's gotten? Well, he's rather blasé about the whole thing.

"I just like drawing in general," he said, "My mum is an artist and I like to follow in her footsteps in a way."

He explained that depending on the size of the paper each individual piece can take him up to two hours.

"I just think they look cool, the steampunk skull is maybe my favourite but yeah, I just love it."

His mother, who was recently in the Adver herself after receiving what would have been one of the last ever letters sent from the Queen, has said that she is in awe of her son's work.

"I am blown away by my son’s talent, he’s really something else, as an artist or an aspiring artist myself, I obviously can see how well he works, his eye and the details, he does have an inherent talent, he works very hard at it," Judy said.

"He’s got something that I just don’t understand. It’s a strange thing that people would pay money for a child’s drawing, which was why I was reluctant to put them up for sale, but he was so well received, and he just gets so much support, people are really enthusiastic about his development.

"I've known for a long time that Morgan’s got something special, which is for the best when your son looks at your picture and says, 'mine is better than yours!'
