AN unconscious bike rider was rescued by police, just days after they had received first-aid training in that exact scenario.

Staff members from the Swindon North, East and Rural neighbourhood policing team embarked on a first-aid refresher course recently.

There, officers and PCSOs had to take part in scenario-based first-aid tasks which included treating a severe arm injury, and dealing with someone who is choking on something.

But one of the other scenarios was responding to someone who has come off their bike and is potentially trapped underneath it.

Then, a few days later PCSOs were called out to this exact scenario on the Ridgeway, where a rider had come off of their scrambler motorbike.

A post was made about this uncanny sequence of events on the Swindon North, East and Rural Facebook page.

It said: "When this was the scenario you were given at your first-aid refresher this week, and today you’re called to an unconscious rider who has come off their scrambler on the Ridgeway - spooky!

"Patient now awake and off to the hospital, and boots/uniform/car need attention instead."
