RISING costs have claimed yet another big upcoming event that was coming to Swindon.
RCADIA was announced earlier this year - bringing a dance music festival to the town's Lydiard Park.
Top acts in the dance music space like Sigma, DJ and producer Nathan Dawe, electronic music legend DJ Fresh, and special guests, Darkzy & Window Kid were set to perform at the one-day event taking place in August this year.
But the organisers of the event, who also had to make a similar announcement regarding the Mfor festival last year, have announced on Facebook that they will not be able to go ahead with it.
A spokesperson for RCADIA said: “It is with great sadness that we announce that RCADIA at Lydiard Park Swindon will not be going ahead.
“We have been faced with the rising costs of infrastructure along with poor ticket sales which makes it impossible to go ahead with the show and has left us with no alternative but to make this painful decision today.
“All customers have been notified that their refunds are being processed via our ticket provider Skiddle.”
The organisers confirmed to the Adver everyone who has purchased tickets will be receiving full refunds.
