AN UNINSURED driver who was caught driving 103mph on the M4 has been banned from driving.
Deivydas Trinkunus, 41, of Maes Knoll Drive, Whitchurch, Bristol, was stopped between junction 15 and 16 westbound at approximately 4pm on September 30 after officers carrying out speed checks in the area caught him driving a BMW 1 Series at 103mph.
When stopped, Trinkunus was found to have no insurance. He was taken to custody where he failed to provide a sample of breath.
He appeared at Salisbury Magistrates Court on November 3 and pleaded guilty to driving at excess speed, using a vehicle without insurance and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
He was disqualified from driving for 20 months, fined £750, and ordered to pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £300 surcharge.
PC Ben Greening of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Trinkunus was caught driving at 33mph over the speed limit on the M4 at what was a busy time of day.
"Not only was Trinkinus not insured to have been behind the wheel of a car, his standard of driving showed a total disregard for other road users and I am pleased the courts have handed him a lengthy disqualification.”
