POLICE have launched an urgent search for a Swindon schoolgirl who has not been seen since leaving school.
A public appeal was made on Saturday morning for help finding 14-year-old Amelie Courtney who was reported missing from the Abbey Meads area of Swindon.
She was last seen leaving school yesterday and her family are increasingly concerned for her welfare, police have said.
She is described as white, about 5ft 7in tall with dark hair who was last seen wearing a black blazer and carrying a large black handbag.
In a post on the Swindon Police Facebook page, a police spokesperson said: "Amelie if you are reading this please get in contact with us so that we can make sure you’re safe and so that your family knows you are safe.
"Anyone who knows where she might be or sees anyone matching her description should call us on 999 quoting log 54230119328."
