A Swindon café has won a national food award for the second year in a row.

Darkroom Espresso, on Faringdon Road, has won the prestigious Blue Ribbon at the 2023-24 Good Food Awards.

Stephen Jordan has owned the café for over four years and is over the moon about the award.

He commended a lot of the success to the atmosphere that Dark Room Espresso has created.

The 37-year-old said: “The team have a wonderful energy, every one of them has a personality that shines through, the customers that interact with them greet them like their friends.

“We all have that energy that makes a customer feel like they are in a safe space.

“I think people come into Darkroom not just for the coffee but for the people as well.

“I think it is a testament to our team and our customer base and how much we make that atmosphere for them.”

Meanwhile, Toby Tucker, 19, a barista at Darkroom, said: “I’m insanely proud of everybody's work and it is well deserved and I cannot wait to see where the place goes in the future.

“It is such an organic and personal place and the staff amplify that and the award goes to show and is proof of all the hard work we put in.”
