Is this the best Christmas lights display in Swindon?

Aubrey Brown has covered his Cranmore Avenue home in festive decorations as part of an ongoing annual fundraiser to help animals in need.

What started out as a shed with a few lights more than two decades ago is now a vibrant variety of Christmas cheer that covers the front of his home.

The eye-catching show which supports Blue Cross starts at 6pm each evening through to Christmas Eve. It features a tombola that costs £1 a spin, and Santa often stops by to say hello.

Lots of new additions have been added since the Adver last reported on this spectacular display in 2019 and a switch to LED lights has helped prevent the electricity bill from rising too high.

Aubrey said: “We’ve had a good response so far and are hoping there will be much more in the run up to Christmas once kids are off school.

“The display doesn’t cost as much to run as before, but it’s still a lot, we’re just waiting to see how much it goes up to in January when the prices rise again.

“I couldn’t do any of this without the help I get from Sharon Colman, Karen and Mark Stue, Andrew Gilles, and Michelle Brown, who all make it possible for me to do this.”
