Reports of a sexual crime carried out in Swindon's town centre in the early hours has sparked a police investigation.
Officers cordoned off the Queen Street alley between Fleet Street and Carr Street on Saturday, September 7.
Police tape could be seen over the narrow space between the Audio-T shop and Jack Spice restaurant to prevent members of the public accessing it.
Four officers remained at the scene for much of the morning and were heard telling inquiring members of the public that there was 'no wider threat to worry about'.
