Hundreds of children enjoyed free activities and meals over the summer.
More than 600 children aged between eight and 14 took part in Dorcan Leisure Centre’s Holiday, Activity and Food scheme, making it the most successful year yet.
The initiative is government-funded and provides free activities for children who receive free school meals or whose families are on benefits.
The scheme guarantees at least four hours of activity per day for at least four days, along with a lunch and lessons on healthy eating.
This summer's activities included swimming, a dry inflatable assault course, football, badminton, basketball, tennis, and rounders.
For the first time, there was an introduction to gym session for older children, led by a fitness instructor.
The scheme also catered for children with special educational needs, including ADHD, autism, and anxiety.
Ashley Giles, general manager at Dorcan Leisure Centre, said: "This summer’s Holiday, Activity and Food scheme has been our biggest and best to date.
"It was wonderful to see so many young people come through the doors, make new friends, try new sports and activities for the first time, and enjoy a healthy and nutritious lunch every day.
"To see so many happy smiling faces and feel like we have made a real difference to the lives of local young people is hugely rewarding."
Parent Samantha Worley added: "My son Kaleb attended for a week over the summer and every day he came back saying he had a great time.
"The fact the children were offered swimming lessons was absolutely amazing, because as a parent of three children I can’t afford to send them all to swimming lessons, yet swimming is a ‘must have’ life skill."
Dorcan Leisure Centre is one of several centre's managed by charitable social enterprise Better which offered activities for children over the summer.
Link Centre delivered additional public ice skating, a trampoline park and a regular soft play programme, while families could also take advantage of 'Kids for a Quid Swim' every Friday from 9am to 10am.
Meanwhile, Delta Tennis Centre offered a two-hour drop-in tennis clinic for eight to 16-year-olds.
Better also organised Summer Open Days from July 20 to 21, which invited people to try out activities in the closest Better leisure centres.
Free classes ranged from gym and fitness sessions to yoga, swimming, tennis, and pickleball.
