The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates Court earlier this week.
MANNINGTON: Three people have appeared in court charged with stealing goods worth £656.50 from the Swindon TK Maxx.
28-year-olds Ancuta Alexandra-Zlate, of Clarence Road in London’s Wood Green, and Aron Petre, of Barking Road in East Ham, pleaded guilty to shoplifting from the store together on February 20, 2024.
A third defendant, a 16-year-old girl who cannot be identified due to her age, faces the same charge and her hearing has been adjourned to October 8, 2024.
Alexandra-Zlate has been jailed for eight weeks due to her participation in organised commercial shoplifting which causes a huge danger to retail security, her driving deliberately to the shop and taking high value goods, and because a child was present at the time of the offence.
Petre received a fine of £500 and must also pay £85 in court costs plus £200 to fund victim services.
