A Wiltshire man stopped by police is accused of having various weapons including samurai swords, a whip, and a bottle of acid.
Jakobus Engelbrecht, of Marlborough Road in Royal Wootton Bassett, appeared at Salisbury Magistrates Court on Monday morning to face 10 criminal charges.
The 48-year-old allegedly drove a Mercedes C200 on the A345 in the village of Oare on August 10 without having valid insurance and while the registration mark fixed onto the vehicle was obscured or amended to be misread.

On the same day, he is alleged to have had a lock knife, two samurai swords, a crowbar, a baseball bat, a rounders bat, a whip, and a five-litre bottle of acid in his possession.
This means that, altogether, the defendant faces four counts of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, three counts of possessing a knife blade in a public place, one count of having a corrosive substance in a public place,
He also faces charges of one count of using a motor vehicle on a road without third-party insurance and keeping a vehicle with registration marks obscured.
