The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates Court earlier this week.
WALCOT: Martyn Clark, of Frobisher Drive, has been sentenced for speeding.
The 47-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Range Rover along the A376 Exeter Road in Exmouth at more than 30mph on August 29, 2023 and September 9, 2023, and driving a Peugeot 308 along the A390 Tregolis Road in Cornwall at more than 30mph on July 19 and 21, 2023.
He received a six-month driving ban and must pay four fines of £358 as well as £90 in court costs and a £716 surcharge to fund victim services.
SOUTHLEAZE: Finn James, of Celsus Grove, has been sentenced for affray.
The 19-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to threatening unlawful violence towards a victim, with help from other offenders, which caused that person to fear for their personal safety in Swindon on December 23, 2022.
He received a community order that requires him to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and pay £85 in court costs as well as £114 to fund victim services.
WALCOT: Megan Newbury, of Drakes Way, has been sentenced for a driving offence.
The 20-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Corsa along the A346 in Swindon without due care and attention on February 18, 2024.
She received a fine of £71 along with five penalty points on her driving licence, and must also pay £90 in court costs plus £28 to fund victim services.
DEVIZES: MRA Fire Safety, of Grassdale in Belmont, Durham, has been sentenced for an offence.
The company failed to give information to police when required about the driver of a Peugeot on London Road who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence on April 8, 2024.
The defendant must pay a fine of £300 as well as £90 in court costs plus £120 to fund victim services.
SWINDON: Greenacre Cars, of Barnfield Road in Swindon, was convicted of a similar offence.
The company failed to give information to police when required about the driver of a Nissan on London Road in Devizes who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence on April 19, 2024.
The defendant must pay a fine of £660 as well as £90 in court costs plus £274 to fund victim services.
EASTCOTT: Alcin Cadar, of Eastcott Hill, has been sentenced for driving offences.
In the defendant’s absence, magistrates found the 45-year-old guilty of driving a Volkswagen Golf along Holbrook Way without a licence or insurance or due care and attention on February 24, 2024.
He received nine penalty points on his driving licence and must pay a fine of £660 as well as £90 in court costs plus £264 to fund victim services.
MOTORWAY: Callum Woodward, of Wragg Court in Rowley, has been sentenced for a driving offence.
The 20-year-old used a handheld mobile phone while driving along the M4 near Chippenham on February 24, 2024.
He received six penalty points on his driving licence and must pay a fine of £138 as well as £90 in court costs plus £55 to fund victim services.
AVEBURY: Bradley Etheridge, of Wareham Road in Poole, has been sentenced for a driving offence.
The 38-year-old changed his plea to guilty regarding a charge of breaking a temporary traffic order by driving a Nissan along Beckhampton Road in Avebury at more than 30mph on February 22, 2024.
He received six penalty points on his driving licence and must pay a fine of £115 as well as £90 in court costs plus £46 to fund victim services.
