Branded giveaways, free candy floss and a disco in the park are just some of the things Swindon Borough Council will be offering at a festival this weekend.
The Council’s Public Health Substance Use Treatment Commissioning Team is working in partnership with Change Grow Live and other local partners for Swindon’s Annual Recovery Festival.
These events raise awareness of substance misuse, celebrate recovery and provide advice about treatment options, as well as delivering alcohol and well-being advice.

On Saturday, September 28 - from 2pm until 6pm - families are invited to play games, and enjoy live music, food stalls, face painting, giveaways, inflatables and a bouncy castle weather permitting at Town Gardens.
In a social media post, Swindon Borough Council said: “This family-friendly event aims to: raise awareness of substance misuse issues that affect individuals, their significant others, and also the community at large, celebrate recovery and encourage more people to make positive and sustainable changes in the lives and promote the local treatment offer for those in need of treatment and support engagement activities.
“You can get free advice, play games, listen to live music, and grab a bite to eat. Everyone is welcome to pop along!”
