THREE men have been arrested after a morning robbery at a Cirencester shop, police say.

Two men threatened staff members and stole two iPhones from the Vodafone store in Castle Street at around 9.30am yesterday, Saturday, September 21.

During the incident, the men pulled over display stands and terrified customers fled the store, officers say.

One of the men assaulted a staff member by pushing them, while the other man stole two iPhones.

The pair then ran into a getaway car that was parked nearby, which was driven by a third man.

Gloucestershire Police say within 45 minutes, CCTV operatives and officers managed to track and locate the vehicle.

A stinger was then deployed to stop the car as it left the M5 at junction nine near Tewkesbury.

Officers say a roadside search of the vehicle revealed a number of suspected stolen items which were recovered, including two iPhones.

The vehicle was then seized.

A police spokesperson said: “Two men from Birmingham, aged 19 and 31, and a man from Bristol, aged 18, were arrested in connection with the incident.

“They have been released on bail while investigations continue.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information which they believe to be relevant is asked to complete the following form, quoting incident 128 of September 21.”
