A town centre pub near the County Ground has gone up for sale, raising questions over the future of the business.
The Tap and Barrel on Manchester Road is being sold ‘with vacant possession’ - this means the building is being sold with the expectation that it will be empty of the current business at the time of purchase.
The new landlord could negotiate with the current business to keep them in the building beyond the purchase.

Alternatively, they could change it into something completely different or the buyer could choose to run it as a pub themselves or bring new tenants in.
The building can be bought for £350,000 via Sidney Phillips, an estate agent that specialises in pubs and leisure venues.

Sidney Phillips could not provide any more clarity on the future of the pub, saying it is up to the buyer to negotiate with the current business if they want to keep them in the building.
The listing describes it as a “substantial detached pub in a major southwest town… between the town centre and football ground”.
It has “open plan bar areas, extensive accommodation and a rear courtyard and car park”.
As well as the pub, Goan fast food business Super Mario's is also a tenant at 115 Manchester Road.
