A man has been sentenced after admitting engaging in sexual activity with a 13-year-old girl.
Rhys Cutler, of Tulip Tree Close, Pinehurst, appeared at Swindon Crown Court on February 19 charged with three counts of engaging in sexual activity with a teenager and breaching a sexual risk order.
In December, Cutler, 20, pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual activity with a 13-year-old girl three times between May 4 and 8, 2024, and breaching a 10-year sexual risk order made by Swindon Magistrates Court on May 1, 2024, after he had contacted a 13-year-old girl on June 13, 2024.
He was due to face trial at Swindon Crown Court on Monday, December 9 for three counts of rape, one count of causing a 13-year-old girl to look at a sexually explicit image, and one breach of a sexual risk order.
Instead, the prosecution put forward an alternative resolution that would not require a trial by amending the indictment to change the rape allegations to lesser charges, keep the sexual risk order breach, and remove the remaining charge about a girl allegedly observing an explicit image.
On Wednesday, Cutler was jailed for four years and six months, and a sexual harm prevention order will be in place for 10 years.
