A former Wiltshire Police officer has breached his Sexual Harm Prevention Order two months after it was imposed.
Callum Denley, of Old Alexander Road, Malmesbury, was arrested on Wednesday, July 23 after failing to hand over his mobile phone for inspection on request as part of his order.
He appeared at Swindon Crown Court on Friday, May 2 after pleading guilty to five charges of making indecent images of children at an earlier hearing on Thursday, April 3.
Denley resigned after being immediately suspended by Wiltshire Police after they had learned of the matters.
The judge acknowledged that Denley had expressed "genuine remorse" for his actions and taken steps in the right direction to get support.
Denley was sentenced to 10 months in a young offender institution suspended for 18 months and he must complete up to 40 rehabilitation activity days.
A five-year sexual harm prevention order was imposed and the former officer will be on the sex offender's register for 10 years.
"I'm as confident as I can be that you are very unlikely to come back here again", Judge Townsend concluded.
A misconduct hearing on Monday, July 14 found that the ex officer would have been dismissed without notice if he did not resign.

The hearing upheld the allegation and concluded that the actions of former PC Denley breached the standards of Professional Behaviour for police officers of Honesty and Integrity and Discreditable Conduct.
He resigned from the force on March 18 – the day he was charged.
The 20-year-old will also be placed on the national barred list, which means he will not be able to work in policing in the future.
Denley pleaded guilty to breaching the order at Swindon Magistrates Court on Thursday morning (24/07).
He has been remanded in custody.
Wiltshire Police said he is due to appear at Swindon Crown Court for sentencing on August 22.
