A paedophile who made over 3,000 indecent images of children, some of which as young as 10 to 12 months old, has been sentenced.
Robert Chester, 65, of Lynmouth Road, Rodbourne, pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent photographs of children and possession of extreme pornographic images at Swindon Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, June 18.
Mr Cooper, prosecuting, told the court that the pensioner had a total of 3,320 indecent images of children in his possession between December 30, 2021 and February 16, 2023.
This included 1,555 category A images, 639 category B and 1,126 category C and still and moving images of children aged four to five and 10 to 12 months old.

Due to the seriousness of his offending, the case was committed to Swindon Crown Court and Chester appeared for sentencing on Friday, July 25.
Judge Townsend sentenced the 65-year-old to 12 months in custody suspended for two years.
He will be on the sex offenders register for 10 years and a 10 year sexual harm prevention order was imposed.
Chester must also complete up to 25 rehabilitation activity days with the probation service and pay a surcharge of £156.
