New owners have taken charge of a popular Swindon café and revealed plans for a revamp.

Luke and Scott Jacobs from The Ridge restaurants have teamed up with MECA owner Justin Britchford to manage Jack's Café at the top of Victoria Road from Monday, September 1.

After the trio announced this big news, they confirmed that all the current staff members will be retained as part of a new team and the breakfast and menus will still be served, along with the afternoon teas.

Although some things will stay the same, customers can expect to enjoy an array of fresh additions to the food and drink on offer as the team "continues bringing excellent customer service and great food",

As part of this new era, the café will temporarily close next month while it undergoes a revamp.

Luke, Scott, and Justin said in a statement: "As proud new owners of Jack's Old Town we first would like to thank the community for the outpouring of positive comments following our social media post announcing the news of our soon to be takeover.

"Jack's has been a popular Old Town spot over the years and we are excited to take over and continue being a well established venue.

"Our team are also introducing an evening menu which will focus on brasserie cuisine with British and European twists.

"We will be launching a traditional roast for Sundays, a new cocktail and spritz menu as well as bottomless brunch events.

"As we will be revamping the bar area, we will be closing the venue looking to relaunch mid-September.

"Look out for updates on our social media for more information."

The business had been put on the property market earlier this year after its previous owner decided to retire and move abroad.

The Core juice bar had moved into the same building as Jack's in July 2024 and recently returned to its original home next to Los Gatos on Devizes Road, sharing a space with No4 Studios while owner Kris Talikowski works on setting up a new purpose-built site later in the year.

Chef Josh West had also moved into Jack's in October 2024 after his Devizes Road business Pick Up Point closed, serving up a variety of top-quality burgers.

According to the Jack's website, House of Bun is still part of the cafe's offerings.
