A man from Hackney has been charged after an incident on the M4 in Wiltshire saw a car crash into other vehicles.
The incident took place at approximately 8.30pm on Tuesday, September 30, when multiple drivers on the M4 spotted a BMW heading from Swindon towards Bristol which was being driven without lights.
Multiple panicked drivers then made 999 calls to the police, after reports that the BMW had crashed into other vehicles on the motorway.
Police rushed to the M4 and arrested a man at the scene.
Kyran George, of Rochemont Walk in Hackney, has now been charged with drink driving following the incident.
The 23-year-old has been released on bail and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrate's Court on October 21.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "A man has been charged with drink driving following multiple reports of an incident on the M4 on Tuesday.
"Police were called to the M4 westbound at approximately 8.30pm following reports of a BMW being driven with no lights through Wiltshire towards Bristol.
"Several callers reported that the vehicle had been in collision with other vehicles."
