Aldi has added two new flavours to one of its own-brand ranges, which is based on crisps discontinued by Walkers in 2021.

Along with its core range, Walkers is responsible for products including Wotsits, Quavers, Monster Munch, Squares and Bugles, as well as various ranges like Max and Sensations.

Stax was another range of crisps that used to be a part of the Walkers brand.

First introduced in the UK back in 2004, Walkers Stax came in three different flavours - original, paprika, and sour cream & onion.

However, the range of crisps was eventually discontinued in 2021.

A Walkers spokesperson explained the decision to discontinue Stax had been made so the company could focus on "making more of the flavours crisp fans love the most".

The spokesperson said: "We said goodbye to Walkers Stax three years ago. Continuously evolving our portfolio enables us to focus our efforts on making more of the flavours crisp fans love the most."

Another added: "Absolutely devastated! I'm guessing the reason behind their discontinuation is poor sales?

"To be fair, I could only ever find them in Sainsbury's, in recent years. Would you consider forwarding on your recipe to Pringles? Their crisps taste awful in comparison."

Despite it being four years since Stax were discontinued, fans are still calling for their return.

But Walkers has said there are "no current plans" to bring Stax back to UK stores.
