One person has been rushed to hospital after a serious crash on the A350 which saw a motorbike catch fire.
The crash took place at around 6.45pm on Wednesday night, November 26 and saw an Audi A4 and a motorbike collide on the A350 at Stoney Gutter, just outside of Trowbridge.
Paramedics, firefighters and police officers were all called to the scene after reports of flames rising from the motorbike.
A full road closure was put in place on the busy A-road, and motorists were forced to divert, as emergency services worked to put out the fire.
The South Western Ambulance Service has now confirmed that one person was injured in the crash and was taken to Southmead Hospital in an ambulance.
A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: “We were called at 18:45hrs on Wednesday 26 November to a road traffic collision near Trowbridge.
"We sent one double-crewed land ambulance, an operations officer, and a critical care car to the scene.
"We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Southmead Hospital.”
In total, the road remained closed for over four hours, and two fire crews from Trowbridge and Melksham were needed to put out the fire.
The Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service added: "We were called at 6.47pm yesterday (26 November) to the A350 to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision.
"Two crews from Trowbridge and Melksham attended and on arrival no one was trapped but they found one vehicle well alight.
"Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish and made the vehicle safe."
At this stage, the status of the casualty that was taken to Southmead Hospital is unknown, and paramedics have not confirmed the severity of their injuries.

One driver has witnessed the aftermath of the crash on Wednesday night described the scene as "incredibly serious".
"A vehicle on fire as you approach Semington when coming from Trowbridge," the eyewitness stated.
Another witness described seeing a "motorbike in the hedge that's on fire."
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police added: "At 6.45pm last night we were called to a collision involving an Audi A4 and a motorbike on the A350 at Stoney Gutter.
"Recovery was arranged and the road closure lifted at 11.10pm."
