Relatives and friends are urged not to visit the hospital.
The Great Western Hospital is asking people to stay away from patients if they have had diarrhoea or vomiting in the past two days.
This also applies if they have been in contact with anyone who has these symptoms.
The hospital wants people to ensure they are symptom-free for a full two days before visiting, to safeguard patients and staff.

A spokesperson for the hospital said: "We're asking relatives and friends not to visit patients in Great Western Hospital if you’ve experienced diarrhoea or vomiting within the last 48 hours or have been in contact with anyone suffering from the symptoms.
"To protect our patients and staff, please wait until you’ve been symptom free for 48 hours before visiting the hospital.
"You can also help to stop the spread of infections by washing your hands regularly."
The NHS tells patients to stay off school or work until you've not been sick or had diarrhoea for at least two days.
They also advise:
- wash your hands with soap and water frequently
- wash any clothing or bedding that has poo or vomit on it separately on a hot wash
- clean toilet seats, flush handles, taps, surfaces and door handles every day
- do not prepare food for other people, if possible
- do not share towels, flannels, cutlery or utensils
- do not use a swimming pool until at least 48 hours after your symptoms stop.
