Paramedics have issued an urgent black ice warning, after a car has crashed off the road and into a tree.
The incident, which took place on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, saw a black car left smashed after a head-on collision with a tree.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the wreckage, and four casualties were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
Photos of the crash show a smashed front windscreen and crumped bonnet.
Paramedics who attended the scene believe that the crash was caused by black ice on the untreated road, and are now urging all drivers to take care.
"It's icy out there," said a spokesperson for the South Central Ambulance Service,
"This was the result of an incident we responded to yesterday where suspected black ice on an untreated road caused this vehicle to come off the road and into a tree.

"When driving on winter roads, snow and ice are dangerous, so slow down. Under bridges, overpasses and shaded areas are all susceptible to black ice.
"Increase your distance to the vehicle in front and if you feel your vehicle starting to skid, take your foot off the gas and slowly turn the wheel in the direction you want to go (don't slam on the brakes)."
The warning comes as a Met Office weather warning for snow remains in place for Swindon and parts of wider Wiltshire. Roads around the county remain icy.
