Food hygiene inspectors have had a busy start to the year.
More than a dozen businesses have received new ratings over the last six weeks, and several more are about to receive a visit from the local authority’s inspection team.
The Studley Grange Garden Centre’s café has a four out of five rating following an inspection on January 5.
Management of food safety and hygienic food handling were both considered good, while the cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building is generally satisfactory.
The Lydiard Beefeater at Lydiard Fields received the full five out of five on January 6.

Chennai Dosa on Victoria Road received a three out of five rating – Generally Satisfactory – on January 7 as that was the finding for the cleanliness of the premises and its management of food safety, though the hygienic food handling was deemed to be good.
Mog Asu on Regent Circus received the highest possible rating on the same date, though specific category details are not available.
Hall and Woodhouse at Wichelstowe got top marks on January 13, with standards in all three categories considered Very Good, and the same can be said for the staff canteen at GXO Iceland in Symmetry Park on January 27.
A visit to Greenbridge Retail Park on January 15 led to the Pizza Hut getting the full five (all three categories very good) and Fiesta De Cuba a four (very good hygienic food handling, generally satisfactory in other matters).
The YC Global Buffet on Holbrook Way got five out of five on January 16, with all three categories considered Good, as did Moredon Fish Bar and The Cakehole on Moredon Road on January 22.
Jolly Rodger Adventure on Greenbridge Road and Mr Kebab on Cavendish Square received the best score on January 23 and 26, respectively, for the same reasons: Good management of food safety and hygienic food handling, Very Good cleanliness.
Merkur Slots at Bridge Street received the same rating on January 16.
The Ridge Bar and Grill’s Greenbridge restaurant, The Well Church in North Swindon, Suvai Express on Manchester Road, Eddies Kitchen on Priory Road East, Sims Catering in Old Town, M4 Express Master Boba on Victoria Road, Howies Bakehouse and Bar on Wood Street, and mobile caterer Knockout Sips do not currently have food hygiene ratings and are awaiting an inspection
