A Wiltshire paramedic has been crowned a Commonwealth boxing champion.
Megan Redstall, who works for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust in Wiltshire, secured the vacant Commonwealth bantamweight title in a 10-round bout at the Brentwood Centre in Essex
She defeated a Kenyan opponent with a unanimous victory.
Ms Redstall said: "Becoming Commonwealth Champion is a dream come true.
"I’ve worked towards this moment for years, juggling night shifts, long days on the road, and early mornings in the gym.
"My job as a paramedic means everything to me as I have the privilege of helping people on some of the toughest days of their lives.
"Boxing gives me a different kind of purpose and challenge, but both roles are about heart, discipline, and staying calm under pressure.
"I’m proud to represent my colleagues and show that with dedication, anything is possible."
Ms Redstall has been a professional boxer for the past 10 years and manages to balance her demanding job with a rigorous training schedule.
This fight marked her first major step up at championship level.
Her success in the ring has now opened doors for further opportunities.
She has set her sights on competing for British and possibly world titles in the future.
The South Western Ambulance Service covers a large area of the South West, including Gloucestershire, Somerset, Cornwall, Devon, Bristol, Wiltshire, and Dorset.
