Products removed from Swindon Tesco as fridges break

A notice can be seen in Tesco Express, on The Parade, in the town centre.

It reads: “Unfortunately this fridge is out of order. If you cannot find the product you’re looking for, please ask a colleague for assistance.”

This sign is attached to the fridges inside, with large sections empty, including: meat, poultry, fish and seafood, pizza and pasta, prepared meals, cream cakes and desserts, and part of the cheese section.

A staff member said that the fridges had broken last night, but could not confirm when they would be fixed.

Products have been removed from the shelves, and are either lying on the floor, or packaged up and placed on trolleys.

A cordon has been placed around some of the products, preventing shoppers from accessing affected sections of the fridges.

Shoppers have been reacting to the news online.

“Oh wonderful, looks like I will be eating out tonight,” said one commenter.

“Went into Tesco yesterday, and one row of fridges was completely empty,” said another.

Tesco have been contacted for more information.
