Netflix has begun production on Season 3 of its most popular TV show, which is set to feature a famous actress from Swindon.
When Netflix's Wednesday first hit screens in November 2022, it became Netflix's most-watched English-language show of all time.
The spin-off of Tim Burton's 'The Addam's Family' stars actors Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Emma Myers, and returned for Season 2 in August 2025 with newcomer Billie Piper joining the cast.
Billie Piper, best known for her role as Rose Tyler, starred in Wednesday Season 2 as redheaded music teacher Isadora Capri at Nevermore Academy.
Piper, who trained at Sylvia Young Theatre School, was born in Swindon and grew up in the town, attending Bradon Forest School in Purton until the age of 12.
Now, Piper has been confirmed as returning for Wednesday Season 3, as production is officially underway.
A promo video released for the start of production shows that familiar faces Billie Piper, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Evie Templeton, Isaac Ordonez, Joanna Lumley, Georgie Farmer, Moosa Mustafa, Victor Dorobantu, Fred Armisen, and Hunter Doohan will all be returning to the Netflix hit.
More newcomers have also been confirmed for Season 3.
Winona Ryder is rumoured to be joining the cast, playing a character named Tabitha.
Chris Sarandon (The Princess Bride), Noah Taylor (Peaky Blinders, Game of Thrones), Oscar Morgan (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms) and Kennedy Moyer (Task, Roofman) will all be joining the cast for this next season.
Chris Sarandon’s will play new character Balthazar, Noah Taylor will portray Cyrus, Oscar Morgan will play Atticus and Kennedy Moyer will play Daisy.
Although little information has been given about the new characters, a Cousin Balthazar does appear in the Addams Family mythology. He is supposedly dead, as Gomez and Morticia met at his funeral.

It has not yet been confirmed when Wednesday Season 3 will be released.
“I’m so excited to be back for Season 3 and it’s great to be reunited with all of the original cast,” director and executive producer Tim Burton said.
“The addition of some dear friends and past collaborators of mine – Winona, Eva, Chris, Noah…makes this season extra special. I feel very lucky.”
