Firefighters have spoken out after a truck driving on the M4 burst into flames, bringing the motorway to a standstill.
The incident, which took place just after 6pm on Monday, April 20, brought the eastbound caused traffic chaos just before the Leigh Delamere services at Chippenham, as emergency services rushed to the scene.
A vehicle, described as a flatbed truck, caught fire and onlookers have described flames billowing from the truck.
Crews from Westlea in Swindon rushed to the scene and used two hose reel jets to put out the fire.
The eastbound lane of the motorway was halted while this took place, and National Highway traffic cameras showed miles of queues forming which were ongoing until approximately two hours.
Speaking to the Gazette and Herald, the fire service and police officers have now confirmed that no one was injured during the blaze.
A spokesperson for the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service said: "We were called at 6.10pm yesterday (20 April) to the M4 near Junction 18 to reports of a vehicle fire involving a flatbed van.

"One crew from Westlea attended where three breathing apparatus wearers used two hose reel jets to extinguish.
"Our stop came in at 7.47pm."
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police added: "We attended a report of a truck on fire on the eastbound carriageway of the M4, just before the Leigh Delamere services, at about 6.15pm yesterday (20/04).
"There were no reported injuries or arrests."
