The National Express has shared more details after a major crash on the M4 saw its coach involved in a crash with a BMW, leaving one man hospitalised.
The incident, which took place at around 2.35am on Sunday, April 26, saw the coach and BMW collide on the M4 westbound between Junctions 14 (Hungerford) and 15 (Swindon.)
The driver of the BMW, a man in his 20s, was rushed to hospital where he remains with life-threatening injuries.
National Express has now confirmed that the coach was carrying passengers at the time of the crash, but all of those on board were taken from the M4 to safety and no coach passengers were injured.
The coach that crashed was the 040 service that had been travelling from London to Bristol at the time of the crash.
A spokesperson for National Express, said: "We can confirm the National Express 040 service was involved in an incident on the M4 westbound between J14-J15 in the early hours of this morning, 26th April.
"Emergency services quickly attended the scene and passengers were safely transferred to an alternative vehicle to continue their journeys.

"We are cooperating with the authorities and will provide any assistance to support their investigation."
A spokesperson for the South West Ambulance Service added: “We sent a double-crewed land ambulance, a critical care car and a rapid response vehicle to the scene and conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Southmead Hospital.”
A closure has been put in place between junctions 14 and 15 westbound, and was lifted on Monday morning, April 27.
