Traffic lights on a major road in Swindon are reportedly ‘not working’, leaving drivers worried.

We have received reports that most of the traffic lights on Marlborough Road in Swindon, heading towards the M4, are not working.

Photos show the lights completely turned off, with no red or green to indicate if cars can go.

One driver told the Adver: “A dodgy place for the lights to go out because up and down that main road, people can go quite fast, and there’s several roads leading onto it as well.

“People are just trying their luck and seeing how they get across, hopefully the police or highways team will sort it soon.”

“It feels like it’s an accident waiting to happen, as people are just having to pull out and hope for the best,” said another driver.

“It really needs sorting otherwise could see there being a bad crash.”

Wiltshire Police and National Highways have been contacted for more information.
