A Mustang driver has admitted to driving the wrong way around a motorway roundabout in an incident that has been described as the 'most dangerous' driving police have ever witnessed.
The incident saw 20-year-old Martin Stokes cross the A419, A420 and M4 while driving dangerously and being chased by Wiltshire Police.
Officers were first alerted to Stokes causing danger on the M4 westbound just before 9pm on Wednesday, July 8, and police attempted to stop him.
However, the 20-year-old did not stop and instead proceeded to drive the wrong way around the M4 junction 15 roundabout coming into Swindon, before joining the A419, crossing White Hart Roundabout and going onto the A420.
Stokes is of no fixed address, and appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court two days later, on Friday, July 10, after having been arrested by police.
He has now pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, assaulting an emergency worker, criminal damage, driving whilst disqualified, threats to kill and using a vehicle without insurance.

“This was some of the most dangerous driving we have witnessed," said PC Ben Greening, of the Roads Policing Unit.
"I am thankful that he has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance.
"His actions put so many road users lives at risk and it is incredibly lucky that nobody was injured as a result of his actions.”
Stokes will now remain in custody until his next court appearance at Swindon Crown Court on August 21.
