A school community is celebrating after its summer fete raised more than £4,500 to support children’s learning.

Wanborough Primary School PTA said the event was a “fantastic increase on last year’s total” and credited the entire community for its generosity, with the final total to be confirmed in September.

The PTA said: "We'd like to take a moment to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the PTA throughout the year.

"You've helped make a real difference to our school community.

"We are delighted to share that, so far, our summer fete has raised over £4,500, a fantastic increase on last year's total.

"A heartfelt thank you goes to all the companies, local businesses, and individuals who generously sponsored an event or donated prizes for our raffle."

The PTA also thanked everyone who attended, including the police, fire service, and volunteers who made the day possible.

The PTA said: "We know times can be challenging, and we truly appreciate every pound spent.

"Every penny raised helps us to support all of the children in our school, providing those extra experiences, resources and opportunities that make such a difference at a time when school budgets continue to face increasing pressures."

The biggest thank you was reserved for the volunteers, with the PTA describing them as “incredible” and essential to the event's success.

The PTA said: "We simply couldn't have done it without you.

"Your time, enthusiasm, and willingness to help are what make our events possible, and we are so grateful.

"We love seeing the smiles on our children's faces and you help create that."

The PTA also encouraged others to get involved.

The PTA said: "If you enjoyed being involved and would like to play a bigger part in planning future events, we'd love to hear from you.

"Joining the PTA committee is a fantastic way to support the school, meet other parents, help organise events and have a say in how the money we raise is spent."
